
Melanie Reich is an actress from Vancouver, B.C. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Diploma in Performing Arts from Douglas College.
Melanie is the Artistic Director of Bright Young Theatre, an independent theatre company in Vancouver, and has produced and performed in a number of productions with this company and many others throughout Metro Vancouver.
Credits include: Viva, Crimes of the Heart and Approaching Lavender with Bright Young Theatre. The Odd Couple with Main Street Theatre, Present Laughter with United Players, and Bash with Two Plank Productions. Problem Child, Canadian Gothic, Trial of Judith K, and Hecuba with Theatre at UBC.
Melanie teaches Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre in schools and with organizations across the Lower Mainland. She has a passion for the meaningful inclusion of people with special needs in all areas of society, and particularly in the arts. She is currently developing her own more inclusive curriculum for dance and drama classes.
Melanie enjoys reading mystery novels and watching superhero movies. She loves travelling with her family and friends, and swimming with turtles.
